Committees

Education: Student Assistance – Clothing:

  • The function of this committee is to purchase clothing for students in need from our local schools.
  • The chair receives all requests, finds shoppers to purchase clothing for the students, and keeps track of budget and amounts spent. Committee members accept shopping requests, purchase clothing, remove all tags, and deliver clothing to the FACT office.

Committee is active September through June, with busiest time at beginning of the school year.


Education: Student Assistance – School Supplies:

  • The function of this committee is to purchase school supplies for students in need from our local elementary schools.
  • The chair and committee members purchase school supplies as needed and deliver supplies to the school or to a designated place for distribution by school officials.

Committee is active in July through September.


Education: Live Your Dream Award:

  • The function of this committee is to distribute award applications and coordinate a panel of judges to select a recipient for each award.

Committee is active in December and January.


Education: Student of the Year:

  • The function of this committee is to update the scholarship application as needed, distribute to local high schools, and select the student who will be presented with cash award at annual banquet.

Committee is active January through May.


Economic and Social Development Committee ~ Human Rights/Status of Women:

  • The function of this committee is to provide support to agencies that help children, women, families, homeless persons and seniors. These agencies provide a variety of services including evaluation, counseling, food and clothing, shelter, mentoring and/or education. Some of the agencies we have helped are: ABC House, Fish, Helping Hands, Linn-Benton Community College, Family Tree Relief Nursery, Oregon Human Services Department, and Jackson Street youth Shelter.
  • The chair works with agencies to determine needs and to coordinate the purchase and delivery of supplies. Committee members may work with specific agencies to determine needs and with the purchase and delivery of supplies.

Committee is active throughout year, depending on level of involvement with the agencies.


Health Committee

  • The function of this committee is to distribute the net proceeds from the annual Walk for the Cause/Run for a Life Event.
  • The duties of the Chair include: Coordinating the grant application process; distributing information to the committee members; facilitating all meetings; ensuring strict adherence to timeliness and procedures; paying close attention to perceived conflicts of interest or favoritism of grant applicants; ensuring that funds are distributed in compliance with all advertising publications; planning and conducting the annual distribution of funds; publicizing the club and its value to the community by involving grant recipients, beneficiaries and community leaders in the distribution event; ensuring that a health related article is published in the monthly newsletter.

Committee is active throughout year.


International Goodwill and Understanding:

  • The function of this committee is to determine ways to provide members with international educational opportunities and increase our participation in international projects.

Committee is active throughout year, depending on level of involvement.
